ABOUT ME
I'm a down-to-earth (but not too much) guy just wanting to get out of his island and see the world. I was born and lived in Venice during 25 years. I've always felt non-satisfied by my travels before CS, and CS taught me that travelling means diving, not sightseeing. Currently working as a family doctor in the center of Lisbon, assisting the most fragile part of the population. When I get out of work, I tear my shirt like superman and slide to the dark side of the moon: I'm taking a 5 years course of Traditional Chinese Medicine, trying to learn and understand the ancient secrets of acupuncture and the Yin-Yang vision of the world.
PHILOSOPHY
There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I mostly host, but when i get some time I enjoy surfing too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Needless to say, wonderful! The best way to travel by hearing people's stories about their home, while sitting on your couch.
Interests
I love music, i've been playing several instruments since when I was 6 and surely i'm not going to stop. Now I mostly have to settle for listening to it, but it's of course enough. For 2 years i sang in a vocal pop choir. It was the best musical experience of my life, if anyone who is reading likes to sing, i recommend trying to find a choir as soon as possible. Believe me, it is an experience without comparison.
I practiced Wing Tsun Kung Fu during 4 years, while living in Venice. I didn't practice any martial art before but it really made me enthusiastic and taught me the beauty of self-discipline. Nowadays, I practice Tai Chi and Chi Kung, which help me calm my nerves and communicate with the energy of the world.
I love taking care of plants and seeing them developing from a small seed to a big green monster. If you know what i mean.
I'm also a bit of an eco-nazi. I dream to create a sustainable world, have already tried (and failed) being vegetarian; the first thing I wanted to do when i graduated from college was finding a way to creat a plastic substitute out of hemp... didn't quite work out.
In my little garden in Lisbon, I am dad to a couple of thousands of red wigglers (worms), which regularly turn my food waste into wonderful compost for my plants.
Last but not least, I love cooking and eating. I always cook for my friends and I'll be happy to cook for you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Took a bath in Venice's water and survived, didn't even get out of the water with an additional eye or a third leg...
-Missed one coincidence in Czech republic while travelling from Slovakia to Poland by night. Met an old homeless man who asked me for Czech money (I didn't have), and gave him all I could, and it was just nuts, water and cigarettes. See happiness in his eyes, just for being treated as a normal human being.
-While in Erasmus in Ulm, I once looked at my shitty 30euro mountain bike and thought "I would like to bring this bike at home". I told it to a friend as a joke, and it ended up with 5 of us going back from erasmus by bike, from Munich to Venice, through the alps. One of the best trips of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to cook italian food, and would really like to learn how to cook other culture's food. I'm really curious about it. I'd also be glad to play some music and sing with you too, if you can play any instrument or just hit an empty bottle to keep the beat! I am also very interested in other countries' medicine and natural remedies
