Overview
About Me
I am a Ph.D. student in Italian Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (US). I lived in Florence but currently I live in Turin.
After graduating from the University of Turin, I taught Italian and Latin in high schools. Since 2016 I have been the artistic director of the “Pinerolo Poesia” festival, in Pinerolo (Italy).
I published a book of poetry: La danza degli aironi (2024).
Moreover, I have been playing the Bluegrass banjo since 2015, with my Italian band (The Trivettes Bluegrass Brothers) and within the Carolina Bluegrass Band (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill).
Recently I got started studying the clarinet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel in a more "human" way, to discover new cultures through real people, to broaden my sense of the world.
Interests
I love reading (poetry, ancient and modern literature) and writing, teaching, hiking, getting lost in the cities...
As a scholar, my research interests include 20th/21st Italian Literature, Italian Contemporary Poetry, Environmental Humanities.
In my second life of musician, I play piano, banjo 5 strings (bluegrass), a little bit of Arabic oud, and guitar.
I like traveling, definitely, meeting people, exploring different cultures!
