About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover couchsurfing as a host

ABOUT ME

I'm a New Zealander who loves meeting new people. I'm up for interesting conversations and new experiences.

I love learning and trying out new things, so if you'd like to give something a go, I'm likely to be more than keen to join in ;o) Learning to surf anyone?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've now tried out couchsurfing-as-a-surfer a few times and I think the experience is fantastic. I have met really wonderful and inclusive people and I've done a whole lot of things that I would never have even known about had it not been for my hosts.

Couchsurfing from the perspective of the host is very new to me. It's an equal amount of fun, but a naturally different experience. I hope, as a host, I can let others enjoy surfing as much as I did and show off my corner of our lovely country.

Interests

I'm a fan of dance (typically Latin: zouk, salsa) but I find most things interesting---especially if they don't have much to do with computing (as I'm a programmer in real life ;o)

I love playing games: board games, cards, or group sports are all good.

I'm no sporting professional, but I'm more than happy to give something a go. Keen to learn to surf, or go stand-up paddle-boarding (SUP), or horse-riding? So am I!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was pretty amazed at how cold Quebec gets (I lived there for a few years). Once I was standing outside watching the fireworks for New Years with a bottle of champagne in one gloved hand. The display might have been twenty minutes long, but when I went to pour myself a glass I was pretty seriously surprised to find the bottle had frozen up. It was a quiet -25 degrees Celsius I think. Don't believe me? I was so surprised I took photos ;o)

Teach, Learn, Share

Wanna do some salsa or zouk? I'm not that great but I'm happy to teach you the basics and I'm often out dancing. I've also recently started to learn Tango, so if you're a Tango-pro, I'd love the practice!

Countries I’ve Visited
