Hello I'm Matt,

I am a ex forces veteran that has recently spent two years visiting over 60 countries around the world. Whilst away I fell in love with travel and photography. I quit the military and I'm now perusing my new hobby of photography and film making.

Boring bio but its here if you are interested :)

I decided to take a career break from working with helicopters two years ago. I woke up early one morning and wanted to and travel the world. So away I went a couple of months later.
I just wanted to live my life by seeing what was out there. Two years on I am the happiest person in the world, having made many life long friends & gained crazy life experiences.

I have been to around 60 countries, road tripped around Australia & Africa in my 4x4. Travelled around South East Asia, spent some months in Germany with new friends. Just returned from a wonderful trip to Colombia and now I'm heading over to explore Canada!

I like to think of myself as very open & positive minded. I love to learn about different peoples cultures, and upbringings. It's so interesting to learn everyone has their own story.

I'm friendly :) I enjoy meeting new people and hearing they're story. I'm much more of a listener than a talker.

I'm passionate about Photography, flying and road tripping. Recent trips have have taken me around Australia, South East Asia and around Southern Africa.

My hobbies would include,
Eating - I love exploring for places to eat local foods
Photography - not that I am any good, but i really enjoy taking photographs & filming.
Driving - As a off-road driving instructor I love to explore off the beaten track
Everything outdoors - Hiking, Camping, adventure sports. Everything!
Making friends around the world - who doesn't like to have friends around the world?!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met a guy on couch surfing before my Africa road trip. We ended up road tripping the whole of Southern Africa together & with other backpackers we met along the way!

I hosted a photography meet up in London which was very successful. 21 people showed up from all over the world! Was a wonderful experience.

After a recent experience when a couch surfing member hosted me when I wasn't "officially a member of the group" it was a really brilliant experience. I hope to host fellow travellers one day.
