About Me
Hey, my name is Matt. The past two years I have lived in Chicago, IL and San Diego, CA. 2017 was when I moved here to Japan for a job the next two years. Because of all the traveling I've done the last couple years I've really grown to love meeting new people and trying new foods from the places I visit.
One of the most important things for me is to be outdoors as much as possible. If anyone wants to go hiking, biking or swimming count me in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason that I am couch surfing is to stay at places other than hotels. I want to be a traveler and meet the people who live in the places I am visiting, rather than being just a tourist.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read anything I can get my hands on, from sci-fi all the way to nonfiction. The two books that I’ve enjoyed the most recently are; The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Natural Born Heroes by Christopher McDougall.
The movie I could watch any day no matter what is Back to the Future.
Lastly my favorite song is anything by Hippie Sabotage.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve eaten the world’s spiciest potato chip.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I want to get out of couchsurfing the most is having conversations with people from all around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some pretty good cooking recipes.
