I'm a young scientist and musician who is interested in travelling, meeting new people and practising language skills!

My research is in physics, and in my spare time I play fiddle and bodhran. I've lived in the UK most of my life, but have also spent time living in Australia and France!

I have a sofa bed available for potential guests.

Centres d'intérêt

Travelling - I've recently been to Zurich, Washington D.C., Geneva and Lake Como. I'd love to spend more time travelling outside Europe, but this will probably have to wait until after my thesis is finished.

Music - I love all kinds of music, from drum and bass, to heavy metal, to hardcore breakbeat, but my real passion is found in traditional and folk music. Some friends and I often meet in local pubs to play Irish, English, Scottish, Scandinavian, French and Breton folk tunes. It's a fantastic way to meet people and spend quality time with a few beers...

Languages - French is my "first study" language after native English. Living in France for a year really boosted my speaking and ever since then I've been looking for people to talk to in other languages. Language is a really nice window into other world views.

Science - I'm a PhD student working on quantum technologies at the University of Southampton. I love science communication projects; the most gratifying thing is to connect with someone and discuss the issues *they* care about, and show how we're all connected in one way or another. :)
