About Me
Hello, my name's Matthew. I was born and raised in New Zealand until I was 12 years old and moved to Australia with the rest of my family. (Go the All Blacks!) My friends say I'm very chilled and relaxed and I try not to stress over the day to day stuff. I enjoy having a laugh, and some of my favourite things to do are playing basketball and other sports, programming, reading, personal finance, and lately have started trying to improve my public speaking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Probably the usual reasons. Meeting new people, trying something different, having a bit of fun, and who doesn't like something for free? :D

Music, Movies, and Books
My inner child loves all of the animated kids movies, and my favourites are The Jungle Book and Aladdin.
Most of the books I read are non-fiction personal development or finance books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know if this classes as amazing or stupid, but when I was in Ecuador I was walking/exploring through a town called Baños. I came across a bridge with some ropes and stuff tied to the edge of the side railing and who guys approached me asking if I'd like to do a bungee jump! I've never done a bungee jump before, but I decided to go for it, so they geared me up and I was standing on a small platform on the top of the bridge and the man started counting down from 3 for me to jump. I he had to counted down from 3 about 5 separate times, and each time I hadn't jumped. I was scared out of my pants! On the 5th time, he spotted a group of pretty girls walking onto the bridge and told me I had to jump now, because I couldn't let them see me back out - so for the 5th time, the man started counting down. 3, 2, 1,..JUMP. I jumped off the slide like spiderman would and free fell until the bungee cord caught me at the bottom. My legs were shaking so much afterwards, this is probably the craziest, most spontaneous thing I've ever done.
