Hello, my name is Matthew Cromer. I've grown up in Michigan, USA, and in the past few years events in my life have caused my idea of who I want to be to rapidly develop and mature... I've lately become obsessed with going out and having beautiful experiences with beautiful people.

I am currently a student at Kettering University studying Mechanical Engineering and Business. I hope to graduate and do my MBA through the Harvard 2+2 program.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The philosophy behind couchsurfing is amazing and it inspires me. Couchsurfing is a really awesome exchange where you are welcomed into the home of a stranger (or vice versa) and you have the opportunity to connect on a deep level with a person who is completely random, but also not random because they share the same fundamental ideals that brought you both to couchsurfing. I am so excited to be a part of this. I am very young at 21 and do not have a place of my own but I cannot wait to one day host for other travelers.

I will be doing a study abroad term in Germany in the Spring (March-June) and will be spending as much time as possible traveling. I would rather meet people and have some really special experiences than just stay in hostels and the like.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I am HUGE into music, I love electronic artists such as Flume, Hippie Sabotage, Filous, Point Point, Ryan Hemsworth... I also really enjoy acoustic artists like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, City and Colour, etc.

My favorite movie by far is Secret Life of Walter Mitty and it had a huge impact on my aspirations and visions of the person I want to be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky diving was incredible, such a rush.

I really enjoyed white water rafting in West Virginia, it's a lot scarier than you would think!

Ask me to tell you stories about the Electric Forest music festival in Michigan... I am a new person because of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and would love to cook you a meal. I also like to show my gratitude by helping out with things you might need done around the house, be it doing the dishes or fixing something that's broken.

I can play the guitar so if you have one I can sing some songs :)

I'd also like to say, I plan on contributing a payment based on where I am, etc. I just really like the idea of staying somewhere personal and making friends rather than staying in a hostel. My goal is not to have a free place to stay so I am happy to contribute :)
