Overview
About Me
I recently graduated from university and am now spending a year (or until I run out of money) traveling the world before graduate school. I have traveled in the past but this is my first opportunity to spend extended amounts of time and truly experience new cultures.
I am laid-back and easy going, but more then anything, I like to have fun and be active wherever I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have usually travelled via hostels and have a great time, but I often feel like I end up stuck in the touristy areas again and again no matter how hard I try to avoid them. I'd like to have more authentic experiences with locals and I'm hoping Couchsurfing will provide this.
Interests
I enjoy both playing and watching sports (I've yet to find one I don't like), hiking, rock climbing, backpacking/trekking, the beach, mountains, traveling, music, and movies.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to a huge variety of music. The only music I don't like is screamo and country. A few random artists I like: The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, Mac Miller, Jack Johnson, Chance the Rapper, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, The Gorillaz, Earl Sweatshirt. Like I said, I like a ton of a different music.
Movies: Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Pursuit of Happiness, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, This is the End, Life is Beautiful, Star Wars, and the newer Batman trilogy.
Books: I need to read more, but I like all of the Harry Potters, Life of Pi, Lord of the Flies, and Enders Game. Recently I've read more non fiction such as The Master Algorithm and Turn Right at Machu Picchu.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I finished a 5k in high school with a stress fracture in my knee (yes, I ran/hobbled an awful time).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn about other people's cultures and travels, or just life stories in general. Everyone has an interesting story to share, and I can share mine as well. I also like to try new things and am always open to a new activity, food, or adventure.
I can teach you about programming or computer related things (I was a computer science major not long ago) and some English. Also if I have travelled to anywhere you're interested in I can try to offer advice from my own experiences and what I've heard through word of mouth.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can provide hosts with good conversation and anything else they'd like.
