About Me
I'm a 30 year old software engineer finally exploring the world after far too much delay. Meeting people and sharing stories and conversation (and beer) is possibly the most gratifying experience I can think of. When relegated to my corner of the world, I spend time coding pretty things for the internet, reading as often as possible, plunking on the guitar, and tossing back the occasional whiskey.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best part of travel is people. I love meeting new faces and hearing all the weird stories, or discussing literature or film or basically anything, over coffee, a meal, a drink. Let's chat.
Interests
Avid reader, obsession with grammar, all the music, strange people, strange places, kindness, empathy, humanity, whiskey, snowboarding.
Music, Movies, and Books
Musical favorites come and go. Listening to The Contortionist and Periphery one day, Bon Iver the next, Banks or Poliça the next. Fleet Foxes holds a soft spot in there, new obsession with MADE IN HEIGHTS (So.Damn.Good.).
Lit: I keep Borges by my bed to fall asleep to, just finished Kafka on the Shore (Murakami), loved Let the Great World Spin (McCann). Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume, that brilliant snarky bastard. Such a good ride. Down and Out in Paris and London was a great read this year, fascinated with Africa right now, so Don't Let's go to the Dogs Tonight was a great read for me. Again, all over the map. I could spend all day filling this in.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Does getting out of bed in the morning count? Some days that feels pretty impressive.
