Marine Corps Veteran. I'm just as outgoing as I am reserved. I usually look for new adventures and experiences, but recently I have been quite idle for the past few years. I'm itching for something fresh so I am going to road trip across the U.S.A. and visit many old friends in many different states. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm about to start traveling across the United States to visit friends and iconic sites. Meeting folks with kindred spirits would make the journey all the more memorable.

All music; rock, country, hip hop, classical, blues, etc... I mostly like non-fiction books. BIG movie guy, just no horror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a personal encounter with an abandoned seal pup in Monterey, CA. I was walking along a stony beach when I heard a whimper of sorts. Then I saw it. A seal pup within 3 feet of me. I immediately began looking for mom, for my own sake. Upon further careful approach the little ball of cuteness started hissing and bouncing towards me, reminding me not to mess with nature. I noticed the pup seemed distressed. Seals are often all over the bay and peninsula, but it appeared that day the seals had moved out of this area towards the wharf. Out of concern I waited for its mother to return, and when she did not return after a couple of hours, I contacted the local marine conservatory and they took it from there. All I could think about was an image of a great white eating the mother...
