About Me
Hi there.
I'm Matthew. I'm a zesty, zen, passionate, and artsy kind of guy just looking for adventure as I travel my way through the South side of New Zealand. I am here from my little town in Canada visiting my aunts and uncles. I've already seen my family in Auckland, and now I'm in Motueka until January with my other aunt and uncle.
From January, I am looking forward to venturing out into different major cities around the South of NZ.
I would say my goal would be to stay at least a week or two in each city. Whether I am lucky enough to stay one night somewhere, and a few nights at another place- I'll be so happy!
I am currently WWOOFing in Motueka by tending to crops, helping to raise/feed animals, and garden where need be in the village my aunt and uncle started in the valley. Our family is big on primal living. All by being authentic in eating, bathing, sleeping, working, and exercising in accordance to our ancestors. My aunt, who teaches this way of life to community members via speeches, also teaches Non-Violent Communication- also in which I am learning! There is so much to be thankful for when you've got a family who is so incredibly in tune with what you need to develop as a human being... and how to be your best self all the time.
Other than this, I have graduated from college in 2014 and I will begin a new Bachelor's program in Fine Arts in September of 2018. I am looking forward to the time where I can receive my RYT one day, too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I am here like most people are! I want to be a part of this amazing community of explorers, travelers, adrenaline junkies, and restless spirits!
I am hoping to meet many new people while I am here in New Zealand. If I can come out of this experience with at least one good friend... then it's all been worth it! Soulmates are everywhere. Just got to leave your country, eh! (Or leaving your room will do too... haha!) Do you! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
What I can share with hosts...
Well, I can share a positive energy that is sure to light up a room. I am very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to get to know someone.
Sure, I may not have many monetary or physical items to offer... but I can cook, bake and make a mean coffee. I can share stories that'll make you laugh or I can listen with my ears wide open. I'm a pretty patient person. There aren't many people I don't get along with!
Or, need a hand around the house? I am a willing, ethically trained slave that's happy to learn how your tight ship works.
Need to take a load off? I am no expert, but I am very knowledgeable in meditation. Maybe I can teach you a thing or two about celebrating your body, mind and soul.
