Overview
About Me
I am a 28 year old raised in the United States, lived in England for several years as kid and then in college spent time doing missionary work in Europe and then travelled. I graduated with a degree in psychology and then went on to get a law degree. I am currently working in London as a corporate lawyer. I grew up outside. Video games and TV were heavily discouraged and even more regulated in my house growing up, and so I was raised outside with my neighbors, playing hockey, basketball and football in the streets, American football in the backyard, something that I think a whole generation is being raised without today. But it taught me to always be the most comfortable around people and the importance of real relationships.
My wife was raised in Philadelphia and then Utah. In college she did missionary work in the American Midwest and then humanitarian work in Africa. She graduated with a degree in exercise and wellness and has since worked for startup tech companies. She's currently loving exploring London.
We met in college, dated for three years and have been married for 18 months. Being single was a blast, but being married is awesome. We highly recommend it. Our favourite thing on earth is to travel and meet new people. We really don't have any gadgets or toys, everything goes to those two pursuits.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Almost all problems in the world (maybe not cancer, but maybe cancer) could be improved, if not solved entirely, if people knew and cared about the guy next store, whether that be the guy physically living next door, or in the neighboring country or continent. My own world travels have taught me that there is no one on earth that doesn't have something to teach me or someway to help me be a better person. I've also learned that what makes travel meaningful is not the cool things you see, but the people that I meet along the way. Travel that doesn't help you and others become better is purely selfish. My wife and I have met incredible people in the 4 continents we've travelled and those we've hosted. We look forward to meeting you!

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As an Eagle Scout I had the honor of being an usher at President Gerald Ford's funeral. I got to sit Prince Charles and Camilla, Colin Powell, Marion Berry, Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright among others. Colin Powell actually almost knocked me off my feet when he ran into me by accident.
Teach, Learn, Share
My wife and I are both amateur photographers. We are happy to share the combined wisdom of all the professionals, friends and courses that have made us better photographers and photo editors.
We both love to cook and bake! Happy to teach our family secret cinnamon rolls or triple chocolate cake. I also whip up a mean carbonara and ragu alla bolognese (red sauce).
I am a very big history buff. 75% of what makes a place interesting to me is how it came to be there and why people care about it. I read history books and biographies in my spare time and love playing unofficial tour guide with our guests.
One of my current interests is sustainable income that keeps itself going. This may be of particular interest to those of you who would love to travel a lot more and wish you had an easier way to finance it. Like I do.
