Overview
About Me
I go back and forth between thinking that I have traveled quite a bit and realizing that I have so many more places to go! Perhaps I am less adventurous than a lot of people on here; living in Spain for a year is my big life adventure for now, but I really do just love being in a new place, seeing the history, experiencing the culture, and meeting new people. I spent most of my childhood backpacking in the American west and so I've learned to love nature and to "rough it". I've brought the minimalist approach from backpacking to traveling, and love nothing better than traveling light and sleeping where I can. Working as an English language assistant in Spain doesn't pay a fortune, so I've had to get innovative when it comes to traveling, and what better way to save money and meet amazing people than couchsurfing?!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel alone but I also hope to meet new people, and couchsurfing is the perfect option. I have done the whole "hostel thing", and while it is fun to meet fellow travelers, I would much rather spend time with one local person who really knew a place than 10 tourists who have a similar outlook on everything to what I have. Especially when traveling in Spain couchsurfing also offers a possibility of practicing my Spanish, which is one of the main reasons that I am living here as it is!
Interests
Backpacking, soccer (football), traveling, language learning, meeting new people, other cliche things. More than anything though I don't need for my specific interests to correspond with another person's interests to connect with them. There will be similarities and differences with anyone you meet, let's celebrate and enjoy them!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love history, and historical books and historically-based movies are the ones I find most interesting. I listen to lots of different types of music, from super mainstream things to very obscure ones.
