About Me
I decided to embark on this journey to the West coast from Wisconsin to discover meaning for my own life.. Letting the world give me the answer I need instead of trying to answer what my meaning is on my own. It’s important for me to go as far as I can go. My ending point will be Seattle Washington, and if I can withstand any further I will head south to make my way east along the southern states.
I love nature, I think that a lot of prescription medication for mental illnesses can be replaced by stepping outdoors letting what nature has to offer give to you. This is another big reason on going for this goal of mine… To raise awareness for people with Mental Health issues, becoming an advocate on walking a greater path than you might think is laid out for you.
When I was 21 years of age I was diagnosed with Bipolar-Depression being sent to Mental Institutions, speaking with psychiatrists to end being put on lithium to stabilize my mood. This lasted for years of treatment until my older brother started taking me for walks on nature trails, taking me out camping spending days out in nature, and that’s when I knew that this is what really cures for some people such as myself.
I am a 28 year old man now, getting to live his life. It’s hard and dangerous world, but with some helping hands a long the way I believe it can be possible to spread some awareness to a better state of mind.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a blessed day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to spend time with new people, make memorable friends, and get to hear stories of other people’s similar travel. Or travels in general, it’s all exciting!
Interests
I love cooking the most out of anything, being a picky eater forced me to cook good food with the food I was usually picky about.
- movies
- music
- audiobooks
Music, Movies, and Books
I am into most music, if it has a good vibe I’m always willing to groove. If I were to choose a favorite type of genre I’d say rock n roll. My favorite band is Pentangle though, which is a 70’s band.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing to date besides embarking on my journey, was taking the Amtrak to coast to coast solo.
