Overview
About Me
I’m someone who loves meeting new people and learning about different perspectives. I’m currently a PhD student, so curiosity is kind of built into my personality. I’m outgoing in the sense that I enjoy conversation and connection, but I also appreciate downtime and a good balance.
I’m the type of person who’s always up for exploring, trying something new, or just having a good conversation over coffee or a walk. I really enjoy the idea of experiencing places through the people who live there rather than just checking off tourist spots.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here because I really value connecting with people from different backgrounds and experiencing places through a local lens. Traveling is more meaningful to me when it involves real conversations, shared experiences, and getting beyond the typical tourist perspective.
I also enjoy hosting because it’s a way to bring that same experience to my own city—meeting new people, sharing what I know about the area, and creating a welcoming space for others.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is all over the place—in a good way. I can go from Mozart to Metallica and pretty much anything in between.
I love watching good movies, especially ones that are engaging or thought-provoking. Always happy to swap recommendations.
I’m also a big reader and currently deep into The Wheel of Time series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most meaningful things I’ve done is step outside of my comfort zone and build a life that aligns with who I am—pursuing a PhD, moving to Chicago, and continuously pushing myself to grow. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can share insights from my work in psychology, especially around how people think, communicate, and connect. I’m also happy to share what I know about Chicago and help you navigate the city.
Learn: I love learning about different cultures, perspectives, and life experiences. I’m especially interested in how people live day-to-day in different parts of the world.
Share: Good conversation, stories, and experiences—whether that’s over coffee, exploring a neighborhood, or just relaxing and talking.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring a relaxed, respectful energy and enjoy meaningful conversation as well as just going with the flow. I’m clean, considerate, and mindful of your space.
I’d be happy to share a meal, contribute however I can, and exchange stories, perspectives, or just enjoy good company. I’m also very open to learning about your city through your experiences.
