About Me
Hey all, I'm a recently graduated student from Melbourne taking a year off to travel. I've lived in China for most of the last year and now backpacking in Europe, hoping to meet as many great people as I can!
I tried philosophy at uni out of curiosity and kinda fell in love with it - now it's simply what I wanna do with my life. Especially interested in ecological ethics, animal welfare, the effective altruism movement and what new technologies mean for the future of humanity... would love to meet anyone else interested :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet warm and open-minded people who love to talk... and to return the favour when I'm back home :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Very into jazz, especially Trane and Cannonball, but want to explore classical more too. I'd recommend reading Catch 22 to anyone - a hilarious tragedy. As for movies, the older the better it seems to me... although increasingly getting into good sci-fi
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ice-caving on a glacier in Iceland
Climbed a volcano in the Philippines
Saw two zen monks punching each other...actually
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach the basics of Buddhism and zen meditation (and Chinese too if you're brave!)
I spent a month living in a monastery recently, a very humbling experience that I can talk for hours about...
Happy to practice French with anyone too...
