Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a redhead. I love life, and I can get a little wild sometimes - in the good way.

Interests

There are couple things I LOVE to do often. Number one of those is love my wife. She makes me a better person just by being near me. Others things include (in no particular order) playing ultimate frisbee (probably my favorite sport), reading/devouring good books, running, philosophy, and traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent a lot of time in Mexico. During one of my trips there, I played soccer (football for my European friends) with some of the children from the nearby village. It was a hard day, so when we finished everybody was super thirsty. The children did not have anything to drink though, so I bought them a big bottle of water. I gave it to one of the children named Roberto. What shocked me is what came next. I assumed Roberto would drink as much water as he could and then pass the water to the next children; instead, he took the water from me, ran to his nearest buddy, and gave him the water. Each of the children took a sip then past it to the next person on their right. After the last person drank from the bottle, there was only one sip left. Roberto, who still had not drank any water, took the water bottle from the last child, walk over to me, and extended the bottle to me. I could not help but cry. This young boy demonstrated a true servent's heart that day. He probably doesn't know it, but he is a hero to me. I try each day have his same heart.
