Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people, discussing their lives back home, how they see the world, what their hopes and dreams are is a great joy for me. Couchsurfing helps me meet new people, and I hope to meet you soon.

In the past, I lived in a communal house with three other CS members, and we turned our home into a hostel for a three-month period. Iot was fantastic! Now I live on my own and am looking forward to hosting people again.

Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Brahms, Bizet are my favorite classical composers. My favorite singer/songwriter is Shane MacGowan, partially because he reminds me of myself. I also like Queen, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Grateful Dead, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater, AC/DC, Springsteen, Tom Petty; basically anything if it sounds good

Favorite books: Zorba the Greek, Last Temptation of Christ, War and Peace, Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punishment, Sportsman's Sketches, anything by Solzhenitsyn, Old Man and the Sea, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, anything by Twain, Aristotle's Politics and Nichomachean Ethics, Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations", Arthur Schopenhauer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on top of Mt. Whitney, and realizing what true freedom is. Then standing on Thorung Pass, and realizing the higher I go, the more I desire to continue.
