ABOUT ME

I am Matt. Son of Max. He was the son of Charles.

I am an avid climber of sorts. I love backpacking, rock climbing and would like to do much more alpine climbing and ice climbing. But Australia doesn't have much of the latter. So that's what I can do in the US!

I am currently studying at Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA for 6 months. After this is finished my girlfriend and I are roadtripping to the West Coast before we head back to Australia.

PHILOSOPHY

In recent years I have found it much more difficult to answer this kind of question. I think that my views and attitudes are complex and relative to a situation. The only way I really find to express these is through conversation and experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My ex-girlfriend and I had a couchsurfer from Germany stay with us once. That was a really great time. I know plenty of people who have been involved and the trip I am planning to the West coast has got me interested in the project.

Interests

Well, its kind of been said. Generally, I like going up. Down is ok, but only if it means going up again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mountaineering books, sociology (My favorite theorists are Marx [especially historical materialism] and Pierre Bourdieu.
For music, I'm eclectic.
My favorite genre of movies is post-apocalyptic stuff.
