About Me
Heya, I'm Matt !
(Sorry, I'm new that's why I have no references)
I'm an actor, filmmaker, musician and writer. I play the alto sax, guitar, piano and also compose my own music. I love writing poetry, taking analogy photography, filming the world and really just trying to articulate the world as I see it.
I'm hoping to start full-time training as an actor soon, so I'm taking 6 months to travel all over Europe and meet new people.
Message me for more info or if you'd like to meet up and share a coffee!
Thanks :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been travelling since a young age and gained a real passion for obviously seeing the world, but even more so, meeting new people.
I think meeting people and seeing their world, and experiencing places from local perspectives is the most authentic and special way to learn about individuals, culture, places, families and their stories.
When I travelled in Vietnam I was lucky enough to make some local friends and the stories we shared and the places they showed us were easily some of the most unforgettable experiences.
Also, (sorry, I know this is an essay haha) I'm a storyteller, and hearing stories is as valuable to me as telling them. I'm currently verging on going back to full-time study of acting, and I simply want to understand people and our beautiful quirks.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all type of music: Indie/Alt, rock, jazz, classical & impressionist, soundtrack/ambient, (some) pop, blues, rap, funk, and hip hop.
I can't pick one favourite film, so here's a few: Her (Spike Jonze), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry), Submarine (Richard Ayoade) and Aftersun (Charlotte Wells)... I love all kinds of movies tho :)
Some of my favourite books: Norwegian Wood (Haruki Murakami), Accidental Dancing (Keaton Henson), Death of a Salesman (Arthur Miller), Unbearable lightness of being (Milan Kundera), The Catcher in the Rye (J. D. Salinger) and In the Skin of a Lion (Michael Ondaatje)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Volunteering in a rural village in Borneo
- Performing on the alto saxophone, roaming around a 5-star international hotel.
(sorry, it's 2 things)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always looking to learn new things!
I can share any of my skills in music, writing it and performing (guitar, alto sax + piano), any skills in filmmaking, acting, and what I know about writing and the arts.
I can also help in learning English.
Happy to share whatever I can.
