About Me
ABOUT US**
My gorgeous girlfriend and I both decided to pack up and leave Australia and are currently living with some of my family in Manchester.
We haven't seen much of the world yet but we will!
We love meeting new people and making new friends.
Tayla is originally from South Africa and can speak Afrikaans. Unfortunately I've never been...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are new to Couchsurfing, but we have surfed a couch or two before.
We never knew there was this amazing website connecting everyone together.
Our goal on our travels is to experience as much we can everywhere we go.
To do this we think it would be much better staying with and learning off of the locals.
Interests
I love my Rugby league team the Brisbane Broncos.
I was so stoked that I actually got to see them play in the UK this year. The only chance I'll get to see them for a while.
I also attempt to play a little guitar. I like to think I'm alright at it, however, I don't have a voice to match it. Neither does Tayla.
We are both very much interested in food. Always keen to try something new.
- dining
- cooking
- guitar
- skiing
- boxing
- rugby
Music, Movies, and Books
We love films!! anything and everything.
Bill Bryson - A short history of nearly everything. Such a great read!
I am obsessed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So I guess you can add Anthony Kiedis' Biography to list favourite books.
Tayla is obsessed with John Butler.
We have seen him live 3 times and constantly on the look out for when he his playing near us.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Matt - Skydived at 5 in the morning as the sun came up. The entire experience was unforgettable.
Tayla - Sand Skiing in the desert in Dubai. Also had a sunset dinner in the desert.
I've also met the Governor general of Australia and former Prime Minister John Howard (who at the time was in his boxer shorts).
Teach, Learn, Share
If you are patient enough I have a Professors Cube (5x5x5 Rubiks cube) I can teach you how to solve it. Or you could just watch me try and solve it in an attempt to impress you ;)
I love learning new things, especially strange facts. For example I didn't know until I moved to the UK that the Queen owns all of the swans in England.
As I already mentioned we love food. So cooking and teaching people some of our favourite foods is something we can share. At the same time I've also set my self a mission to collect a new recipe from everywhere I visit.
