About Me

CURRENT MISSION

errrrrr find super cheap accommodation because i'm travelling on a tight budget? :) honesty is a good policy I say ;)

ABOUT ME

Always the worst box to fill out haha... How do you describe yourself?

I'm a young guy out to explore, learn and grow. I love to meet new people and relish the chance to listen and discover new ideas and points of view. I would say I'm easy as hell to get along with. I have my own loves and passions and opinions but i am always keen to listen and try new things rather than ignore what's around me and stick to what I'm comfortable with. Couch surfing struck me immediately as an amazing way for me to travel on a budget (haha wouldnt it be nice to not have one of those) and get in contact with new people I would never have otherwise met.

Hopefully we get a chance to meet and you can make up your own mind on me rather than read this little box :)

PHILOSOPHY

ohh thats a bit of deep question for an internet box lol. Maybe a discussion best saved for a more errr socially lubricated situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to Surf and I imagine host some interesting people when I get home :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to the site but had a great experience In Lisbon when I ended up crashing with friends at a CS house.

Interests

Iwas studying to be a commercial pilot not long ago and when I got very very close to finishing the course the sudden reality of the career I was throwing myself into scared the hell out of me haha. I put aside my license and picked up a camera instead. Now photography and music are my real passions I would say. I shoot events and parties mostly. Large outdoor events are my speciality. Electronic music especially techno, prog and psy trance hit a special place with me. I see dance as active meditation and feel incomplete if I can't get totally lost in sound on a dance floor for too long. I've been toying with the idea of producing some music but I feel like a spend too much time on my laptop editing photos already haha.
Apart from these things I know I love the most satisfying thing I find is exploring new ideas, places, perspectives and activities. I'm keen to throw myself out of my comfort zone whenever possible and get the perfect photo of what I find there :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything with rhythm, bass, soul, energy that can make you move... Psytrance, techno, prog, DnB, Dubstep (takes a while to dig through the shit haha) Soul, Funk, Old Rock.... the list goes on forever. I believe all genres have good music you just have to have the time to find it :)
Mostly though give me bass driven music on a stupidly large stereo out in nature somewhere and I'll show you what active meditation through dance is :)

Books and movies are are long list to get into. Mostly anything that makes me think a bit differently :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first solo flight when I was 16 was a huge moment for me. Taking off was fine, and flying the circuit. But then suddenly I was on final with the ground coming towards me and no one sitting next to me the help out. It was the moment when "your life in in your hands" had meaning to me for the first time. The sense of independence and self reliance I gained in that moment is something I call on every day.

Countless sunrises and sunsets, amazing vistas all around the world. The beauty and power of nature is something I believe everyone needs to learn to appreciate.

Maitreya, rainbow serpent, boom.... Nothing quite compares to removing yourself from the world and going doofing (that's an outdoor party with a big stereo and electronic music for any non Australians haha)

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, France, Indonesia, Laos, New Zealand, Portugal, Russian Federation, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
