About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do the occassional small thing that might make a big difference. And enjoy doing it.

ABOUT ME

I like exploring the limits and boundaries of things and genuinely believe that nobody can beat me at backgammon. I'm generally pretty laid back, go to bed late, like to live well, have only ever worked for myself.

Interests

Film, stories, photography, architecture, art (all kinds but big interest in the work of James Turrell and various kinds of modern art), food of all kinds, love wine, running, mountains, philosophy, technology, nature, people, laughing, chilling.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many films - particularly ones by Lelouche or Beneix or Kubrik.... I've watched a lot of films, epics (I love an epic), sci-fi, historical, love stories - anything as long as it's great film.... If I have to name a genre though, it's 70's road movies. And no remakes! Music, film and books tend to be ultra eclectic for me and kind of hard to list them all - Hendrix, Shirley Bassey, The Doors, Thievery, Earth Wind and Fire, lots of reggae and funk, Jeff Beck, Mattafix, Jimmy Smith, Air, Groove Armada, Daft Punk, Grace Jones... listen to Giles Peterson's show a lot too, some dance music for sure and recently a bit of classical and and and - just any good music really. Much the same with books: 1984, Godel Escher Bach, Tender is the night - that's probably a good top 3.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave a lift to a very trusting hitcher who had just witnessed me fall off a motorbike due to my near total lack of motorcycling skills.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach: Photography - I'm a very good b/w and colour printer! Mechanics - somehow I acquired a zen attitude and an education in physics which turned me into an expert italian car mechanic. If that's useful to you, I'm more than happy to teach it......
Want to learn: More about music (and would love to learn guitar some day), wine, film, esoteric thoughts, kitesurfing. And if someone can teach me about linux, illustrator, autocad and avid in an afternoon, I wouldn't say no.
