About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To show the world my city of Richmond.
ABOUT ME
I'm friendly, outgoing, goofy, and have a great sense of humor. I am a history buss and love Richmond. I am a tour guide and would be happy to take folks around Richmond.
I genuinely care about people and love getting to know new people. I love traveling and having done a wround the world trip, and a fan of shorter 2 week trips while being settled here.
I am very courteous. People generally like being around me because I like people around me to be happy. Above all, I don't take myself too seriously and always try to have fun. The best thing about me? I'm always me. No BS.
PHILOSOPHY
"Don't be hatin'" "Everybody love everybody" Movie quotes that sum up how I feel. No reason to be a jerk to people, it's more fun to get along. Don't judge other people lest ye be judged. I find that when you check pre-concieved notions at the door, life is more enjoyable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host now! I love meeting new people and fellow travelers.
I Couchsurfed as a traveler because I can hang out with locals and have an immediate connection, which is the point of travelling, right? Not having to pay for lodging is definitely a nice perk!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed around the US , Europe, and Asia. I'd say at this point I've stayed with 10 or 11 hosts (May 2014) I've hosted one (very cool) traveler so far.
Now that I am in a place where I can host, I can finally pay it forward!
Interests
I lead tours of Richmond, Virginia! My dream job.
I am a huge history/economics/political science buff. I love pro-wrestling (sigh, I know). I also love comic-book related things. I LOVE Karaeoke, especially Elvis. I spend time volunteering in the community through my Lion's Club. Of course, I also love traveling. I especially like road trips because I really enjoy driving, blasting the radio with the wind in my face. Pure bliss.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mostly non-fiction history, politics, economics, and comic books. I like super-hero based movies and comedies. I like all music.. recently I've been really into Rockabilly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Grand Canyon: holy crow! You hear about the Grand Canyon, and you're like "yeah whatever, it's some nature stuff" then you walk up to it and it's THE GRAND CANYON. Never have I been so overcome with a sense of awe.
Motorbiking through the mountains in Vietnam. And seeing Karaoke at a strangers house during a Tet Party.
I rode an Ostrich.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some basic self-defense strategies. I can teach you how the American monetary and banking system works. I can teach you pretty much all the basics about investing (easy to learn, hard to get right). I can give you talking points if you ever get into an argument about politics, economics, or American football. I can tell you a lot about a lot of different history. I can teach you gardening basics. I can help you with volunteer recruitment. I can also teach you how to lose 20 pounds in 30 days.
