About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning as many skills as I can around the world. Currently surviving the Alaskan winter as a full time Garbage truck helper and part time Baker. Summertime I work as a deckhand and naturalist in the whale watching tourism industry. Slowly earning school credits, traveling, living life, working, staying active outdoors and not going broke.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Wisconsin. Transplant to Juneau, Alaska. Obsessed with sunrises and sunsets. Intense love for Kayaking and being on the water.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find those who open their homes and welcome travelers are the best to be around. Great stories, lessons to be learned, friends to be made. As a traveler myself I can appreciate the comfort of having a place to rest your head.

Interests

Ever since moving to Alaska I have become slightly addicted to ocean kayaking, mountain hiking, overnight trips, glaciers, and the sweet escape of the outdoors. I have many interests but my current home really encourages all of the above.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lake Street Dive, Wallie, and currently on "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling lead to a lifetime of amazing things. Including moving to Alaska which has given me experiences I had never dreamt of. Kayaking with wild whales and orcas being one of them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone is a teacher and a student.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An unnecessary amount of whale knowledge, I attempt to cook, great listener, lifetime friend, all the great things I've found in the dumpsters as a garbage man...what else does a person need. If you ever find yourself in Juneau, Alaska in the summer I'd love to pay ya back with a whale watch, glacier tour, and exploration of this beautiful state.
