About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the freedom to truly be myself - To live authentically - To face my fear of rejection - To have a damn good time being alive

ABOUT ME

I'm a lover. I love to experience life and live to my fullest. I have a very wide range of interests. I value authenticity and vulnerability. I am a lifelong learner and traveler through life.

As I enter my 28th year on this planet, I'm starting to feel the deeper desire to contribute in a more lasting way. I want to work hard, to master things, and to hold nothing back.

PHILOSOPHY

If you don't like someone you don't truly know them. I believe in taking responsibility for myself - my actions

I value authenticity, integrity, self-awareness, self acceptance, being in the moment!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I prefer to get to know a new city/country through the eyes of its people. I use couchsurfing to facilitate connections with these people, allowing me to really feel what it would be like to live in a certain place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before making a couch surfing profile, I realized I've been a couch surfer my whole life. When I graduated I lived in Escondido, but had many friends in San Diego, and would spend several days a week surfing couches so I could spend more time with people I love.

I've surfed in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Chile, Cambodia, San Francisco, Alabama, New York and Wisconsin. (this was all before making a profile!)

Most recently I got to visit a finca (latin american country home) near Cogua (just outside of Bogota). It was great to experience such an intimate, personal and authentic Colombian outing with a small group of friends.

Interests

Here are some of the things I love: good food and drink, finding my way around a new city, discovering a cool place off the beaten path, hiking, walking, cycling, playing rugby, futbol, frisbee and fooseball, yoga, circling! (ask me about it: www.authenticworld.com) eyegazing, truly feeling connected with someone else in their vulnerablity. Sharing my own vulnerablity.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music (I'm a drummer). Bon Iver, U2, The National, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, The Arcade Fire, Destroyer and many more

I love reading (especially in parks while travelling). Ender's Game series(Orson Scott Card) Lord of the Rings, Dragon Tattoo Series, Lean Startup books, David Whyte, Rob Bell, Donald Miller, The Glass Castle, The Kite Runner

Movies: No Country for Old Men, LOTR, The Matrix, Good Will Hunting, Slumdog Millionaire, Her, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Anchorman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got an all expenses paid spring break trip to the virgin islands with a friend in High School. I've had several people tell me that I changed their lives and mean it. (Really hard to beat that one)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach the drums, some yoga, google apps, English, a practice called "circling", chess, rugby

Learn: I'm looking to learn more spanish, how to cook better,

Share: I'm willing to share myself - I hope you are willing to share yourself
