Resumen
Sobre mí
I'm adventurous, bold, reserved, but fun.
Philosophy: "God gave you two ears and only one mouth for a reason. Listen at least twice as much as you talk." -my dad
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I've Couchsurfed with three different hosts, and Couchsurfing has changed my life for the better because of how much I've learned about other cultures and people.
My first Couchsurfing experience was with Oscar in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. It was so great that I've gone back four or five times since then. In that time, I've gone with Oscar and his family to parties, family reunions, the beach, roadside cocktail bars, and more. They're like an adoptive family now. :)
Intereses
I enjoy hiking, reading, writing, storytelling, bike riding, dancing (favorites include swing, salsa and blues), listening to live music, swimming, tasting new beers and coffees, and exploring new places.
I'm originally from Dallas, Texas, and I went to university at The University of Texas at Austin, where I studied writing and communication. After graduating, I worked for a non-governmental organization in Guatemala. Then I came back to the U.S. at the end of 2015. I still love going back to visit!

Algo increíble que he hecho
In July 2008, I climbed alone to the top of a 13,000 ft. mountain in Colorado. It was just rocks, wind, and me, looking out over endless mountains, experiencing something that few people do.
In December 2012, I went swimming with my friend Jared in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Oregon. It was my first time to ever see the Pacific.
In July 2013, I went to Honduras and met up with my dad and about 10 other men from the U.S. for a volunteering project. We went up to a tiny mountain "aldea" in Comayagua and helped the men in the village install a new gravity-based clean water system. Besides working, we got to experience their culture, and they even got to experience some of ours! The return trip was unforgettable too. I returned back to Izabal, Guatemala using six different forms of transportation, including a chicken bus and a tiny "lancha" boat. One side of me was completely wet when I finally arrived at my destination!
Enseña, aprende, comparte
My dad's side of the family is originally from northern Mexico. In August 2013, my grandfather's neighbors in the state of Chihuahua taught me how to make flour tortillas. A few weeks later, I was in southern Mexico, and I taught my host family how to make them!
