About Me
Hi!
My name is Matheus and I'm studying Cinema abroad at Coimbra University from 03/02/2018 to 31/07/2018. While I'm here in Europe, I'd like to experience new cultures, to know unforgetable places and make very good friends!
I study Visual Arts and work as researcher on Art and Media Theory at University of São Paulo, where I intend to complete a Master in Social Studies soon. On this subject, my interest rests on the borders between Reality and Fiction explored by contemporary artists nowadays. I'm also an artist myself, working mostly with encraving, painture and drawing. I've already made a few exhibitions in Brasil and I'm trying to open my way at the art world.
Oh, and I’m vegetarian, which means I don't eat any kind of meat (fish and chicken included), but eggs and cheesee are okay 😊

Music, Movies, and Books
I really love Cinema, but the french are the best! I'm keen on all nouvelle vague's movies, such as Band a Part (Godard) and Les 300 Coups (Truffaut), but my favorite 60's movie is Le Mepris, from Jean-Luc Godard. I also love Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Frances Ha, Star Wars series, Harry Potter series and iranian movies (Kiarostami is the best!)
My favorite book is L'écume des Jours and the storys of Michael Ende, such as The Neverending Story.
Talking about music, I really love The Smitsh, Bjork, Sonoio, The Strokes, Die Antwoord, Death Grips, MPB (Brazilian popular music), Brazilian Funk and Samba.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm an artist, so one of the best experiences I had was to have one of my works exhibited at Museum Of Contemporary Art of University of São Paulo, MAC-USP, one of the most important museums in Brazil :)
