Hi, my name is Matthias. I'm from Krems/Donau in Austria, where one of the most prominent tourist destination lies called "Wachau".
I moved to Vienna 2 years ago for my Job as an Design Engineer. Now i have a beautiful flat near the Belveder Palace.
I'm a very open-minded and a always happy person.
Love sports, meeting friends, travelling and all the beautiful things this world has to offer.
Sometimes I feel like Bilbo Baggins, always looking for a new adventure. ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Actually I'm more a Host than a surfer, but I'm definately gonna try it out this year ;)

Interests

Pretty sure that my biggest interest is sports! From endurance sports to martial arts I love all of it. I like to push my mind and body to the limit to see if i can reach it.
I also play a lot of instruments like Piano, Guitar, Bassguitar and Drums and played in many Bands in Austria and Romania.
My Focus this year is on alpine climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

As you may have noticed I love Lord of the Rings. :) As for the books and movies.
Also Harry Potter and Star Wars. So the Fantasy thing is definately my favorite.
But after all these years I have never left Disney :D Disney is something special!
My musiclist is very broad. Rock (RHCP, Blink 182), Rap (Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky), Jazz & Blues (Miles Davis), Electronic (Paul & Fritz Kalkbrenner, Solomun)
and also Classic and Oldies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked through the Tijuca rainforest in Brazil unprepared, only with a pair of converse, a jean, a tshirt and a bottle of water. All the way to the top of the mountain Tijuca Massif.
It was an amazing experience wich i will never forget!
