I'm Matthias, a guy from southern Germany. I love to travel and meet people from all over the world. Since my time in Mongolia, where I spent one year to do civil service, I aroused my interest in seeing different countries and cultures. I'm an open minded guy and a great cook ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about CS when I lived in Mongolia. I hosted some people and had my own experiences being a surfer in Beijing, China. The idea to host travelers and show them the place you live is a wonderful thought and a superb way of meeting people from different nations and cultures to spend some time together and have fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was at the airport in Beijing to fly to Ulaanbaatar, I had no money left to pay the driver from the check-in to the terminal, but I was really late and had to use the car and get my flight. Another passenger, he was mongolian, came to me and said: "We Mongolians pay for our guests!" That was a kind of hospitality I never experienced before.
