Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1st August 2016:
Couchsurfing is not a website, neither is it a portal for free accommodation. It is a lifestyle. A lifestyle that changed my life. Over the last 22 days I hosted 7 people from 6 different countries, 3 different continents but 7 different own personal stories. Now it's time for a break. I just wanted to share this beautiful experience with as many as I can. Together we can make the world better, starting on a very small scale of hosting and helping each other. Once someone helps you, don't pay him any money, help another person next time. That is the most essential life-lesson I've learned in Norway. The most essential life-lesson learned on Couchsurfing: We have all our differences, but they unite us, they can inspire each other. And all in all, we are all the same. We are human beings! In these times of open borders and migration we should just learn again that it does not matter where you are from, it matters how you are! So let's stop all the xenophobia. We can learn so much from each other!
My mother once told me: "Don't go home with strangers, don't enter a stranger's car, don't take food from strangers." - Well, when you're a child, that's good. But for now, I just ignore all of that: I do exactly the opposite! Several times people offered me their help, brought me back from remote places, shared food with me, offered me shelter.
I learned again to trust people and to believe in the good side of people. Once you show trust, you gain trust. Opening yourself makes you vulnerable, but making yourself vulnerable and giving other people the chance to truly understand you, is real strength!
Once you open yourself, others will too! There are so many things out there which slip through your hands when you close yourself.
Everything depends on your attitude! You get what you give! So just give give give! You will be surprised how much you get, without even wanting it beforehand. It will improve your life and make it worth living! Open your heart and you will see how it can change your life. You should all give it a try! Let's cause change by inspiring and helping each other!
Now, I want to thank all my guests, or better said my friends, for staying with me. It was a pleasure and a true inspiration! Thanks for making me a much better and positive person again. You are all awesome!
Interests
Photography, skating, cycling, hiking, cooking, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, juggling, magic and card flourishing.
I try to mostly spend my time outside rather than simply sitting at home. When sending me a request, be sure to mention the word Kartoffelsuppe just to prove that you read my description. Please mention the word “air mattress” to show that you agree with the sleeping arrangement. I just receive too many bad requests. I also love chilling on a rooftop and watching the sunset. I'm always up for a glass of wine as well! "Btw: Maximum number of guests: 1" means exactly that ;)

Attending the biggest Drum & Bass party in the entire World. Rampage 3/2018 Moving within a week-notice from Poland to Norway. Travelling by the cheapest mean of transport from North (Gdynia) to South Poland (Zakopane). It was absolutely adventurous! Going for a hike into the wilderness of Norway alone for a weekend without any further planning, hitch-hiking and meeting around 20 people personally. Hiking up the Kjeragbolten, one of the toughest hikes in the Lysefjord region in Norway. Hiking to all the prestigious fjord destinations in South Norway and staying there overnight on the spot. Sleeping in the desert of Wadi Rum in Jordan. Taking a bath in the Dead Sea in Israel. Taking several baths at -10°C in the Baltic Sea. Snorkeling in the Red Sea. Visiting the lowest point of the earth. Riding tricycles and motor bikes on the Philippines for daily commuting. Canyoneering and jumping from the 12m high Kawasan waterfalls in the canyons of Matutinao, Philippines. Snorkeling with whale sharks in Cebu, Philippines. Spending a weekend on the almost unexplored two southernmost islands of the Philippines (Balut & Olanivan) and living a basic lifestyle with a local. Visiting Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Bathing in the Széchenyi Thermal Baths in Budapest, Hungary. Surfing in Tamraght, Morocco. Cliff jumping from an 8m high cliff in Paradise Valley, Morocco.
