Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Matthis. I grew up in a tiny village of 1000 and I want to get to know my fair share of the other 8 billion people around the world. I’m studying exercise science at GSU in Cologne and I’m currently planning my next adventure. I’m into all kinds of sports and I’m easily exited. I can speak German, English, Spanish, a little bit of French and am currently learning Swedish but I’m sure that even if you don’t speak any of these languages we’ll find a way to talk, hope to see y’all soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to create memories that will make me smile when I’m looking back on my life. It’s not so important weather these memories come from hosting someone here in Cologne or from travelling around the world, I hope to find likeminded people here on Couchsurfing.
I moved to a student dorm last month and unfortunately I'm not allowed to host people here, as soon as I have my own place again, you're all welcome to stay!

- 'humankind' by Rutger Bregman and 'Factufulness' by Hans Rosling are definitely worth a read, currently I'm reading José Saramago's 'Blindness' and I'm absolutely loving it
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My Interrail journey was probably the best month of my life (so far), the feeling of freedom, new experiences everyday, making new connections with other people and just getting the opportunity to see a big part of my continent and am now looking forward to discovering the rest of the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to introduce you to the fabulous game of roundnet, but if you are not as enthusiastic about sports as I am, I could try to teach you how to solve the Rubik’s cube, I’m also happy to meet a worthy opponent in the geography categories game we call Stadt, Land, Fluss here in Germany
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my stories and listen to yours, I could help you around the household and I’ll probably get you to be more active :)
