Overview
About Me
cogito ergo sum :)
i like cities. not for the amount of people gathering there but for their gravity on the outstanding. like a bright lantern for all kinds of moths, escaping from the surrounding darkness. not for the amount of culture there but for the niches. these small spots where everything is possible.
i like nature. barely touched by humans, too mighty for these two-legged creatures. breakers on a craggy beach, ice on a volcano, the darkness of the wood, the nippy wind of the mountains, the rocks, the water...
and i like cemeteries. that special mood, walking across an old graveyard, the silence, the bygone lives and the life arising from the bygone.
recently i recognised some changes: a shift away from the darkness, some kind of causeless happiness. probably because i solved some problems... or maybe it's just a side effect of the icelandic summer? i don't care, it feels good :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
why i'm here in general? i suppose because of my social tendencies.
why i'm still here after couchsurfing has turned from non-profit to ordinary capitalism? seriously, i don't know... at least i refuse to pay verification.

Music, Movies, and Books
music, yes! very important for me. currently near the cd-player: sonic youth, nick cave, mono, neubauten, sólstafir, felix kubin, killing joke, misþyrming, ghostpoet, tricky, 16horespower, mari boine, deutsch nepal, pj harvey, massive attack, dälek, anna von hausswolff and shostakovich.
i love to explore musik i don't know yet. suggestions welcome :)
movies? not so much. as i am faceblind, it is sometimes difficult to follow the plot. but i like weird humor: riget, the green butcher, in china they eat dogs, adam's apples, dr. strangelove, darkstar, hross í oss, hrútar, muttertag, komm, süßer tod,... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cghg-QyTP_M
no favorite book, currently reading neil gaimans "american gods". you may also find terry pratchett and bill watterson on my book-shelf. i'm more outdooor than bookworm :)
btw: i will only answer your request if you answer this question: what was the last song, sound or piece of music you enjoyed?
