Hey there!! I am Mattia :) I was born in Northen Italy and i grew up and studied in Milano until my early 20s. Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated by travelling and one day, tired of my city, I decided to drop Uni and start travelling. I didn't know where to start from and choose as first step London! That was probably a mistake because, as often happen with London, I was soon swallowed by such a big and powerfull city! Every single time I was close to a change and ready to leave, something was holding me there! A job opportunity, a girl, my studies, a promotion at work involving more money but also more stress and less time to dedicate to myself.
After 5 long years, after many good and bad experience, after meeting many different people and friend from all around the world, after learning a lot about life in a big and over populated city, I eventually managed to get away from that mess.
I Travelled a bit around Italy, visit some friends in Sweeden, France and Spain and then decided to start a long pilgrimage along the north cost of Spain, walking across Basque country, Asturia , Cantabria and Galitia. I lived in the nature, walking in the countryside, in the wood, over beautiful cliffs for over a month and understand that the quality of the time I had spent there was much more valuable than the time I had ever spent in a big city.
I also met many amazing people and I discovered a new possibility of travelling, or living! I tried to go back to my old life but I just couldn't live that way anymore. I understood that what I want for myself at the moment is travelling, learning different skills that can allow me living closer to the nature! I've always been a city boy unfortunately but I'm sure still on time to coltivate the love I have for the nature and a simple life!
For the last 5 months I 've lived and worked in Portugal where I became a professional diver! I will now move on to Australia to travel and work for the next year!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I chose couchsurfing cause I believe that true essence of travelling is to LIVE the place you are going to. Couchsurfing gives the possibility to get to know a new city, a new environment by sharing time with someone that already lives there! I find it amazing.. I a love to share my experiences of life and my stories with other people as much as I love to hear theirs (maybe in front of a nice meal and a glass of wine :) ). And also is cheaper and warmer than a hostel :P

I love cooking and music, any kind of music! I wish I could play some instrument but I just strum away the guitar some times! I am interested in almost everything as in don't know much about many things I love to learn, share informations, sotries, thoughts and so on..
