About Me

I am an American-Bulgarian living in Bulgaria and will be off to university very soon. Bulgaria has joined the EU in 2007 and I have been travelling a lot ever since! Although I haven't been to too many countries, I have made sure to stay a good while in these places I've visited in order to get a good sense of the surrounding culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A very long time ago, two American hitchhikers stayed in our apartment in Bulgaria. We weren't a part of the couchsurfing society but still they managed to contact us and ask us if they could stay over. As these complete strangers stayed a few days with us, they told us about couchsurfing and the idea behind it. Honestly, I loved having two randomly new people over for the sake of traveling, discovering, and experiencing. Since then I've always wanted to travel Europe in the couchsurfing format.

Interests

I love music, science, and reading. I am going to be studying physics at my university with the desire to end up working in a physics-related field. I am interested in quantum physics, particle physics, and cosmology. Currently I am writing a research paper on the significance of the Higgs filed and the Higgs boson. I simply love the wonders of our universe and the beautiful mathematics and logic that create its foundation.

I adore music! I know some people that cannot live one day of their life without listening to music - I am NOT like that. However, I do believe music has played a large role in my life. Half of what I listen to is classical music. As a cello student, I absolutely adore cello concertos, cello sonatas, and cello solo pieces. I am undoubtedly biased in believing that the piano and all other stringed instruments are superior. I do, however, love listening to brass instruments such as the trumpet, trombone, and saxophone. BTW clarinet is one of my favorite instruments for some reason.

Although I am very bad at anything athletic, I a have good durability when it comes to hiking and walking for hours on end. I love the great outdoors (i.e. mountains, lakes, forests) and discovering new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014 I made a road trip with my family from California to Florida. That's straight across the bottom of America. We drove through a bunch of States, saw a bunch of places, and met a bunch of people. My favorite destinations were New Orleans, Louisiana and everywhere in Florida! On the way there we encountered a flash flood in Texas!!! It was dangerous.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cleaning skills! Washing dishes and over all cleaning up after myself. I can do other household duties too.

I can also share stories about my past experiences and would like to share new experiences with my hosts. A meal, a walk, a hike, or an adventure with a host is something I eagerly look forward to. I understand that hosting people is no small task. When I was being raised, I was taught to treat hosts with utmost respect and to never overstep a guest's boundaries. In general, I am a sociable person and would never avoid or be unwilling to hang out with a host.
