ABOUT ME
Life is something that is given to us and it is up to us to fill the time with something meaningful. I think all of us are born to study life and that is how I try to live.
I try to be open-minded and positive, to make friends and to experience all the good things that life has to offer. Flexibility is one of my best characteristics, and to be honest, isn't flexibility what a traveler needs the most to be able to enjoy the beauty of being on the road.
I am not a person who is easily stressed up about things and I like diversity. The silence of the Swedish countryside or a noisy and crowded town in Asia - both can be the best place in the world! The Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang totally makes sense to me.
Good things about me:
I am ambitious. I like to plan ahead. I am a perfectionist. (these three also go into the bad things category, cause I tend to overdo them quite often.) I am quite good at writing. My language skills aren't too shabby and I also know a fair amount of stuff in the field of science. Problemsolving is fun and I learn new things easily. Also plus: I enjoy eat all kinds of food.
Bad things about me:
I am too ambitious sometimes. I plan too much too often. I am a perfectionist (sometimes I just can't get satisfied.) I am quite boring when I am tired. In a large group where I have no assigned role, I often get silent. I am not good at telling jokes and I am a terrible dancer (please don't ask me to sing for you either). Sometimes I decide things too quickly, forgetting that I am not the only one with ideas of how to solve the situation. I hate to do mistakes and I tend to have a very hard time swallowing my pride.
I won't write a biography, but I will make a short description of my life so far.
I am born in Stockholm, but grew up in a small village in the middle of the forest in a part in Sweden called Småland. It is the same area from which the founder of the world-wide furniture company Ikea - Ingvar Kamprad - comes from. (If you want any opinions from me about Ikea, feel free to ask me in person.)
When I was a teenager my family moved to Germany and lived in Stuttgart for three years before going back. After finishing high school I did one year of military service. The following year I studied one year of French at Växjö University.
Feeling a bit lost and longing for something new I went to visit a friend in China for two weeks. That made my go "China Crazy" for a while.
I've worked, travelled and studied since I was 20. In this time I've experienced many great things: Did half a year of diving in Thailand, attaining the PADI Divemaster level. I studied Chinese full time for three semesters in Kunming in southeast China. After three years of studies at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm I finally received a Bachelor of Science in engineering.
Still not being happy with my prospects and the path I'd choosen, I started digging further into my mind, struggling to find out what I really wanted to with my life.
One day, I finally realised what I had always wanted to do. That day I was sitting in the library at school studying. Feeling rather lost and bored, I looked through the ceiling window and saw and airplane in the sky. My thoughs came naturally: "I should be there, not here, what I am doing?" Pilot, that's what I wanted to be, what I had always wanted to be!
In a final desperate attempt, I applied to Lufthansa's pilot school. And I got in! I am finally doing what I am supposed to do!
Soon I will be flying you guys around when you are heading for the next couch. :D
That hopefully covers it.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to learn. I live to experience new things. I try to be positive and if I am kind to people, they will hopefully be kind to others.
If you have ever turned the other cheek instead of seeking revenge, then you should know that you helped to make the world a better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to contribute to this lovely idea that makes the world an even better place to live in. I hope that I can make many friends, both as a host and as a visitor. Hopefully this community will grow and grow, so that couches can be found i every corner of the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for the first time in Paris in June 2007. It was fantastic to realize that this concept really works! Then I went for a three weeks holiday to US and Canada with my brother and we were warmly welcomed everywhere we came. I've couchsurfed in Buffalo, Waterloo, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and I long for my next possibility to go traveling and meet new people. I've also hosted people both in China and Sweden and as long as I have space and time I am happy to receive surfing-requests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Making a drop from 0 to 40 meters of depth at Hin Daeng in Thailand, seeing the bottom all the way down. That was pretty cool.
