ABOUT ME

I am a happy go lucky kinda guy. I love to travel to new an exotic places, I like to seek places that will take me further and further outside my comfort zone. I am a people person and so love to meet new and interesting people especially if they have great stories to tell!

My personal background has played a huge role in my love for travel. I was born in Tasmania but my parents are from South Africa and Zimbabwe. When I was younger I went and lived in Botswana. Having lived abroad as a child, and having parents who travelled when they were younger I myself have grown a fondness for travelling and exploring.

I am a worldly traveller with 38 countries under my belt. After an amazing experience through Asia I am back home in Tasmania! for now....

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy as I currently see it, is to enjoy every moment without regret by making each choice as important as the previous one. Travelling for me is my way to learn about myself and how I will live my life. I constantly strive for freedom and I have learnt that if I am enjoying live then I am free.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a traveller I participate primarily as a surfer looking for new and exciting people to meet and places to visit. However once I have finished my travels I am keen to become a host to give back to the Couchsurfing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experiences have all happened after meeting wonderful people in the many hostels that I have stayed in and then consequently I have gone and visited them. All very positive.

Interests

Almost anything interests me in some way or other. In particular I am interested in white-water rafting and kayaking having done a bit of river guiding in the past.
I love to travel and the freedom of travelling its become an integral part of my life and so I am interested in getting a travelling job!
I love to cook, cooking is a great hobby of mine.
Since travelling I am very interested in learning new languages which will allow me to talk on a more personal level to people I meet and get me more involved in the communities I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy just about any type of music. Particular bands include Coldplay, Foster the People, Nightwish, AC/DC, Mumford & Sons, and many indie bands.

Movies: Once again I love all genres. Particularly Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Wall-E, Slum-dog Millionaire and many many more.

Books: I am very specific with the books I enjoy some are. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, David Eddings series, Terry Pratchett.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done was very recent. I flew around Mt Mckinley (Dinale) in Alaska the highest mountain (20000ft)in North America and to top it off then Landed on one of its Glaciers 9000ft up. The experience was incredible never done anything like it and probably never will again. To top it off it was a beautiful clear day the sun was shining and air was so calm. UNFORGETTABLE!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook I am an excellent cook and love to do it when I have the time.
I have been travelled extensively and am happy to give tips and advice on where to go what to do and where to stay (If its a place I have been to or know about)

I myself would love to learn Spanish however I am very very new to it haha
