About Me
ABOUT ME
I am easy going and easy to laugh. By night I like staying in with great company (with drinks?) or going out to a pub. I also like having lengthy conversations on just about any topic over tea, coffee, or beer.
By day I like walking the city of choice. I like architecture and people watching. I like museums and the touristy stuff the first day or two, but after that I like to integrate into the local scene and see how it's really done.
I'm mid-20s and from rural Tennessee. I'd tell you the town, but without a map it's nearly impossible you'd have heard of it. I moved to China spontaneously (a friend asked me about a job, 2 weeks later I'm arriving in Xi'an!) and want to see all the nooks and crannies I can before leaving. I'm pretty relaxed about nearly everything and 'yes' is the first word I learn in any language.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm trying to maximize my traveling throughout Asia for now and while hostels are fun to meet other travelers, I'd like to be able to talk with a local (or long-term resident) about their favorite things to do around the city that I can't find in a book or on Google.
Interests
I love photography.
I like hiking and seeing the beauty of places both natural and human.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of music. Elephant Revival and Lana Del Rey are my two favorites right now.
I grew up with Harry Potter so that series will always make it into my favorites. I also like historical books and off the wall fantasy ones.
Movies, any and all. Foreign and domestic. I tend to go for more visually stimulating films though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camped for a week in the Outback. The sky seemed endless as did the stars. It was humbling and exciting to see just how many stars, galaxies, planets, etc are out there. Reading a number is one thing but putting something in perspective is another.
However being the first in my family to leave my home town in Tennessee was a huge step.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a dedicated student for life. What interests you? Can you show me? Maybe I'll discover something completely awesome that I wasn't aware of before.
Teaching? I teach English in China so i am fully aware of that camp. I Know a little about a lot, a jack of all trades. Maybe in our conversation you'll pick out something you want to know more about and I can help you with it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can do a photoshoot of your choosing. You? You and your significant other? Your favorite item... your choice.
Otherwise...
I can also cook some good o'le Southern cookin', (Fried green tomatoes? Boiled peanuts? Biscuits and gravy? of course, chicken friend chicken (it's a thing).
