About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Implausible

ABOUT ME

"Let's ignore all the usual stuff that people put in this section. If you're on couch surfing it's pretty obvious that you are open minded, like to meet new people, learn about different cultures, like to travel and are outgoing.

"I could tell you lot of great and interesting things about me but then what would we talk about when we meet? The people who have met me have written about their experiences of meeting me. Check what they have to say because it's probably far more honest and accurate that anything I would write about myself. If you really want to know something specific feel free to ask."

Thanks, DSHINE - couldn't have put it better myself :-)

PHILOSOPHY

... is interesting, but a single "ism" is too confining.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Decided living in a huge house full of unused rooms seemed daft, so joined couchsurfing. Less spare space these days, but still able to host...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted people both on this site and through random meeting. Is an amusing thing to do!

Interests

Climbing, reading, idling...

  • reading
  • traveling
  • surfing
  • rock climbing
  • anatomy
  • biology
  • neuroscience

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list - everything from classics to modern stuff. Has anyone yet turned down a couch request because of a clash of favourite authors...?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Birth of baby seahorses (from the male - really!) plus a live volcano or two, the odd Komodo Dragon, and even some human stuff in between ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Biology - comparative anatomy, neuroscience, physiology (mainly mammalian).

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're interested, I'll be happy to join in a freegan trip around your town - this is generally an eye opener!
