Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
First of all.....a big F@CK YOU to single males on CouchSurfing who are basically only participating on CS in order to host females for salacious intentions. Your ethic completely violates the CS spirit and philosophy of helping people. So again...f@ck you and f@ck off, you selfish, narcissistic pricks.

So...where were we? Ah yes....How I participate in CouchSurfing.
In the true spirit of CouchSurfing, I'll host whomever needs hosting, and I'll gladly host whenever I can. If I can't host for whatever reason, I love sharing adventures with fellow travelers and showing them around Kyiv. I also try to participate in CS events in Kyiv in order to build friendships and attract a growing network of like-minded individuals who want to participate in the H.O.P.E. program in Kyiv (https://hopewithyou.org/)

For me, while surfing someone's couch, it's important that I treat my host's home as if it were my home: I pick up after myself and take part in whatever needs to be done around the house. I'm extremely grateful for their hospitality, and wish to be low maintenance and respectful.

COUCH SURFING EXPERIENCES
My first couch surfing experience was with a family in Faro, Portugal. That family set the standard for me regarding hospitality for travelers, and I wish to extend the same hospitality to others.

My last couch surfing experience was in Guam, and again it was modeled for me what hosting is all about. My daughter and I stayed with him for 7 days....in his bedroom, while he slept on the couch. Amazing host.

I also love just living and enjoying "the moment" with friends, be it over beer, hiking, or even just over lunch. Laughing with friends is seriously the best that life has to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

~ I helped at Mother Teresa's first home for the dying and destitute in Nirmal Hriday, Calcutta.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't wait to learn about (and perhaps challenge) people's stereotypes of Americans. Actually...stereotypes don't bother me really because it's not important that I'm American. Honestly, I love meeting people from various cultural backgrounds; I love learning the different ways we can view and understand the world and I hope to meet like-minded people. I love the free flow of ideas and resources.
