About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meander through misadventures until I'm an old man with a mysterious past.
ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm a student of Archaeology, Anthropology and Heritage. I've lived in Manchester for the past five years but I'm originally from a small suburban town. Since starting university I've travelled each summer to many places so that I can complete internships and gain experiences that would otherwise be unobtainable at home. I've worked on archaeological excavations in Britain, Cyprus, Spain, Macedonia and Romania. I've also worked as a tour guide at a Viking boat museum in Norway. As well as briefly farming in France and Portugal. All this travelling has only been possible through hitch-hiking thousands of miles and placing a lot of trust in the people I meet.
Whenever circumstances allow it I'd like to become a teacher. Or a fire fighter. Either would suit me fine. Until then I'm studying for a Masters and fighting off the poverty that has arisen as revenge for all the fun I had earlier in life.

PHILOSOPHY
It used to be "There are more options than safe or sorry." Nowadays it is "you are the last person you imagine yourself to be."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a handful of people at my old student flat but mostly I'm eager to socialise. I try to make up for not having the time or facilities to host regularly by being a friendly and respectful guest to those I stay with.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing has enabled me to connect with some fantastic people and experience amazing moments. I will always feel a sense of gratitude to the community.
Interests
Deconstructing barriers between people. Dancing. Eating until the point of joyous regret. Kind hearted conversation. Making a mockery of everything but with a sensitivity towards personal attachments. Learning from others' everyday philosophies. Merging with nature. Trying to become someone who'd be a good father.

Music: The xx, Nicholas Jaar, The Weeknd, Feist, Azealia Banks, Cat Power, SBTRKT, Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas, Beach House, Chromatics, Tom Waits. (But these are only recent favourites. I'm an encyclopedia of anglo-american indie music)
Books: The Great Gatsby, On the Road, The Idiot, One Day and then lots of anthropological theory.
Films: Drive, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, Gran Torino, Shaun of the Dead, Let the Right One In, Sin City, Inglorious Bastards, The Big Lebowski
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I often find myself in strange situations. Once I helped dissect a pig with a Dutch Butcher in the Portuguese outback. He was spending all his savings on building his family an indestructible submarine in time for what he believed would be the 2012 apocalypse. I meanwhile, was just a modest goat-herder.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm no good with a stage or a soapbox. But allow me a conversation of jokes, debates and curiosity and I promise we'll both learn new things from each other.
