i'm from new york but i don't have an accent. i play music, read a good bit, and throw the frisbee. and i'm a big fan of surfing the couch.

PHILOSOPHY

i'm a follower of Jesus, and enjoy discussing what that means in our world. but i love learning about all different faiths and views and those that hold them, so let the conversation begin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed with numerous folks in Eastern Europe last year. It helped me realize that travel is about the people you meet and that there is no substitute for good old-fashioned hospitality.

Intereses

thoughtful music, theology, the outdoors. postmodernism is one of my pet hobbies, and i also have a secret love for nerdy word and math games, and spontaneous quizzes on U.S. state capitals.
i play piano, guitar, bass, and a few other random things... i'm into good books but don't read as much as i'd like... i play ultimate frisbee as much as possible...

MUSIC: rock 'n' roll such as radiohead, smashing pumpkins, sunny day real estate, old coldplay, old weezer, plus many many more... jazz such as bill evans, thelonious monk, john coltrane, miles davis, etc etc... classical from bach to brahms, with copland, debussy, and everyone in between (have you ever heard of harry partch?)... and everything else that's interesting (lauryn hill to pink floyd to johnny cash).

BOOKS: east of eden, trainspotting, anything by chaim potok, 1984 and the other dystopian novels, foster's celebration of discipline, the Bible, the list goes on
