About Me

I'm 22 years old and grew up in the Fort Smith area. I spent my first two years out of High School studying Information Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. During my education, I had the opportunity to intern and work with two technology companies (Edafio Technology Partners and Matmon Internet) that have provided me with several computer, business, and marketing skills that I could not have gained in school. During these internships, I worked with large businesses to achieve a long-term goal.

After learning these skills, I was very disinterested in completing my degree in the expected 4-year time frame. I decided to take some time off from school to explore the United States and further my freelance career.

I aspire to travel to new countries in the future, not only to see different parts of the world, but to gain insight on different cultures, traditions, infrastructure, governments, and language. I'm also very open-minded and open to new adventures.

I voluntarily left school in May 2015, but I still want to get my degree. I felt burnt out on school and tired of doing the same thing everyday. I'm hoping to continue my education in the fall of 2018.

Since September of 2015, I've been doing freelance SEO Consulting and Web Development. I've lived at a resort town in Colorado from June 2016-February 2017. The majority of my freelance work has been trying to help small businesses accomplish their goals online while staying within their budget. I'd love to collaborate on a project!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mentioned above, I want to travel more, experience new cultures, and meet new people - where ever I have the ability to go. CS not only provides me with a tool to connect with others in various locations. I may even meet someone who lives in a place I have never heard of before or no nothing about - the more knowledge and experience to gain, the better.

Interests

I enjoy hiking, spending time outdoors, and studying new programming languages and online marketing strategies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got the opportunity to go to Washington DC for a week for a leadership summit. I got to tour the capitol building, have "a night out" or 3, spoke with congressmen and house representatives over lunch, and gained new leadership skills.

Teach, Learn, Share

Through CS and traveling to new places, I can not only teach others about the world I come from, but I can learn about their culture and share experiences with various walks of life. I can learn how to see the world from new perspectives and teach people to understand where I come from and why I aspire to go where I do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you catch me in Arkansas, I would love to show you a few cool places, particularly outdoor wonders in the Ozarks and central Arkansas. Feel free to message me for the best spots. :)

I can provide SEO/website advice if needed.
