About Me

LOCATION

Currently living in Christchurch New Zealand

CURRENT MISSION

To speak fluent Spanish and Portuguese. I love meeting new people from all different backgrounds and hearing all about their travel stories. Experiences far outweigh posessions!

ABOUT ME

I'm on a mission to learn Spanish, but have also started learning Portuguese after spending some time in Brazil. I love being outside and love rock climbing and snowboarding. Although I have travelled a bit there is still so much for me to see. I've just quit my job and I'm going to do the things that make me happy :-)

I don't smoke, but do enjoy a good beer.

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you love! There is more to life than what you think.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I don't have a free couch at the moment but, I am happy to be a tour guide in Perth and show you around the city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great weekend away with a large group of people I met on couchsurfing and it was a really fun weekend! I made loads of new mates there and even saw some places in my own state that i'd never seen before! Awesome way to meet interesting people.

I've met up with a Mexican couple a few times to practise my Spanish. Another experience I have had that I wouldn't have otherwise had without couchsurfing :)

I couch surfed for 1 month down the east coast of the United States, staying with people of all different ethnicities and backgrounds and had the most amazing time!

I spent 3 months travelling through Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and couch surfed most of the way!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Asia

A month long snowboarding holiday to Niseko was one of the greatest travel experiences I've had to date. The group of about 10 people I went with made the trip amazing! I've eaten seafood in Singapore and had a fish foot spa in Bangkok and I've ridden 100's and 100's of km on a scooter through Thailand. I watched a great friend of mine marry on a clifftop at sunset overlooking the crashing waves of Ulawatu in Bali.

Europe

A few months spent travelling through Europe provided some of the best memories. Climbing the eiffel tower, throwing coins into the trevi fountain, literally having my breath taken away at madhausen concentration camp in Austria, drinking the world's freshest Heineken in Amsterdam, seeing my first snowfall in Wantage in England and seeing London covered in snow, visiting the amazing city of Berlin and partying long into the night, drinking absinthe from the bottle in Prague and eating chocolate in Brugge. I saw the northern lights from Sweden, cycled around Copenhagen, drank too much at Oktoberfest, took a day trip to Liechtenstein, and went to "Europe's biggest waterfall", Rheinfall, in Switzerland. I am currently living in Alesund, Norway where I am training to become a sea kayaking guide.

Africa

I've done safaris in Zimbabwe and South Africa and been snorkelling in the pristine clear waters of Mauritius and been in awe at the beauty of the african landscape. I've seen all of the big 5 in the wild and partied the week away at Splashy Fen in Durban.

New Zealand

I've summited the second tallest mountain on New Zealand's north island and bungy jumped over lake Taupo, I've visited the thermal wonderland of Rotorua and spent time losing myself in Auckland and Wellington. I did an easter egg hunt through Queenstown and took a helicopter flight to a glacier over milford sound. I've walked the Tongariro crossing and snowboarded Mt Ruapehu and Taranaki. I've also helped build a power station in New Plymouth and been tuna fishing off Taranaki

Australia

I've travelled to most of the capital cities in Australia and driven the great ocean road where I saw koalas and echidnas. I've skydived over the south west and done roadtrips throughout WA. I've been deep sea fishing off coral bay and patted wild stingrays in Hamelin Bay. I saw Kanye West and Coldplay perform at splendour in the grass in QLD and swum at Bondi Beach.

North America

I lived between Ottawa and Montreal in Canada for 4 months and travelled lots of places on the east coast from Niagara falls and Toronto to Quebec city. I travelled (and couch surfed the entire way) from Montreal to Miami, meeting amazing people along the way.

South America

I have visited every country in South America except Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, but I will visit them soon. I spent 3 weeks in the Galapagos Island in Ecuador, visited Machu Picchu and the Nazca lines in Peru, Rode death road and visited the salt flats in Bolivia. I travelled north through Argentinian and Chilean Patagonia from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires. I went to the world cup in Brazil to watch Australia play and was blown away by Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu falls. I also lived in Belo Horizonte where I fell in love with everything Brazilian!

Antarctica

I visited my 7th and final continent in 2014 and was absolutely blown away by the Icebergs, Glaciers, penguins, seals and whales. I kayaked underneath huge icebergs and watched a 20 metre long humpback whale spyhop 2 metres infront of my kayak. I also crossed the Antarctic circle, and went swimming in the ocean when the temperature of the water was -2 degrees celcius

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to teach English in exchange for Spanish and Portuguese conversation/lessons with easygoing people. Can teach poker, rock climbing, snowboarding, kayaking and can share some amazing stories.
