ABOUT ME

Greetings! We are a married couple who grew up in Ontario, Canada. We're not complicated people. We love doing just about anything, especially if we've never done it before. We're very open-minded, fun loving folk who enjoy making new friends, sharing stories and enjoying good times! We have backpacked our way around Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland. We've made some remarkable friends along the road and memories to last a lifetime..but we're just getting started.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By any way that we can! During our first trip through Europe we were very fortunate to have wonderful people take us in and show us around their world. We would like to be able to repay that by passing the buck, so to speak. If we can't put you up for a night hopefully we can always offer our services as drinking partners ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We surfed quite a lot through Germany, Czech Republic, and Poland. It was amazing, and it was the people we met along the way that made it so. When we lived in Edinburgh, we began hosting and had many new friends come and stay with us. The feeling we get from hosting is rewarding to say the least!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music..Just where would we be without it!? We really are into many different kinds of music. Loud and fast, soft and mellow, it's the rhythm of the drum that keeps us all dancing, baby! There are some amazing Canadian artists, poets, writers, film makers and musicians that we can teach you about :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day while living in a remote part of Western Scotland, our friend Andy came running to find us.

"Quick, everybody get on the boat. There's a report of a pod of dolphins over by those islands!"

We all climbed aboard Mary Doune, a fast island hopping boat that would take us there. It wasn't long before we could see other boats already heading for the same group of islands.

Then, just as we neared the spot, we could see the surface of the water rippling with something. At first there were a few, but within minutes the sea was brimming with dolphins, their backs and dorsal fins rolling up and out of the water just before sliding back down into the blue.

We thought that was incredible. Andy then turned the boat starboard and began speeding up. The most amazing thing happened! The dolphins started following us. At first we thought there were tens of them. All of them speeding up to join us in our race...but more and more came! By the time we were nearly at full throttle, HUNDREDS of dolphins were speeding along with us! All of them diving in and out of the cool Hebridean waters. We could hear them communicating, whistles and clicks and squeals of enjoyment. We couldn't help but laugh out loud!

We'll never forget that day when we raced a pod of over 300 dolphins around the waters of Western Scotland.

Teach, Learn, Share

We both love good conversation. Listening to others tell their stories makes you want to go out and make some of your own. We love to share food and wine, music, laughter, all the usual stuff. We might be able to teach you a thing or two, and we love learning more about the world around us.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experiences, hopes, dreams, nightmares, good times, food, wine....We all have something to share with each other.

Also I can teach you how to 'shot gun' a beer in 5 seconds without spilling it :)
