ABOUT ME

I originally hail from Buffalo, NY but have spent time living in Toronto and Japan. I've absolutely caught the travel bug over the last five years. Traveling has opened my eyes to so much, and I've met so many incredible people along the way. I wish I had signed up for couchsuring earlier. I've had great experiences so far! I hope to give others fun, rewarding experiences when I'm finally settled somewhere.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to keep this Rosie Thomas lyric in mind while traveling: "Loneliness is just a crime. Look each other in the eye. And say hello."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been great so far! I met great people that made my Europe trip so much more rewarding. Can't wait for the next time I can surf or host.

兴趣

I love good people, good films and good music. I love talking with good people about good films and good music. These three things usually have combined in some way to make up some of the best experiences I've had in my life. Some good beer and pizza and wings from Buffalo don't hurt either. I'm a big believer in breakfast. And good sushi. And the BUFFALO BILLS! Yoroshiku!

I LOVE film and music. I could go on forever in each category. Being in Toronto exposed me to so much great stuff in each category. The Toronto music scene was absolutely incredible. I honestly feel like music and film have made me a better person and have helped me grow up. I feel most at home when I'm at a Weakerthans show or watching an early Kevin Smith film. Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity" will always be my favorite album.

I once played Captain Hook in a Japanese musical. True story. After being a teacher for five years, seeing kids GET something. Holy moles--that's pretty great. Seeing the Taj Mahal, the inside of La Sagrada Familia, Munnar, India, the sunrise at Angkor Wat, and Radiohead live also were pretty phenomenal.
