About Me

Hard to describe a person in global...even harder, when the person is yourself. What I do is studying violin making and repairing. What I try is to love and respect poople, or at least one of these. I'm patient, a bit slow minded sometimes, but friendly, and open to ideas not offending others.

I like to write with filling ink pens, smoke smoking pipe and to wear a hat and do everything slowly. A bit out of date, but don't worry :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to spend as little on rooms, as possible, to spend more money on the experiences. I don't need services, to clean after me, I'll happily do it myself. And hotels are so lifeless sometimes, it's better to meet the locals than the doorman... :)

Music, Movies, and Books

oh my gosh...that is a hard question.
Music: mainly classical, partly folk, jazz and world, a bit of electronic, and all what can catch my ears

Slow and dull movies, where the drama is not in the twists...and make you think about a week at least. Of course I watch the big movies also, and can't say I do not enjoy them. But I don't like horror and cant watch anything comedy except Monty Python :D

A lot of books, a lot! I read not so well known books, and like to read native language books, mainly from my homeland, because I think I can understand books from my culture the best.

Dont really like evaluating art. I dont think a piece of art must be "good" in academic manner to be a fantastic experience, to show you something more than you expected. Sometimes it just needs your approach and a well placed sentence, picture, or a word to remember it all your life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

not done really, but hearing Kedrov's Otche nash in an orthodox church in Moscow by a random male choir...
