ABOUT ME

Hello there.

My name is Matvei (or Matt), and I am studying applied mathematics at the LSE with humble hopes of making something useful out this degree - like inventing a cure for cancer or, at least, growing more tasty seedless tangerines.

I have already tried like thousands professions, including interpreter, primary school tutor, delivery boy, financial markets researcher, corporate finance analyst at the private equity and strategy consultant. From the looks of it, I'm sticking to last one for the next couple of years after the graduation.

Music is my real passion (or at least it used to be) - I played guitar and sang in a band during my undergrad degree. Unfortunately, I haven't touched a guitar ever since, however, I promised myself to bring music back to my life after I go through the tough studying period (as if it will ever end)).

Traveled across Northern Europe when was studying in the Netherlands. Hope I was an interesting guest for all my noble hosts)

Will host as soon as I will switch to a lifestyle involving less than 12 hours of working or studying a day.

Intereses

Traveling (there was almost a year long pause in my CS activity due a very time-consuming job), recording music (I used to play a little bit on almost every musical instrument), studying maths and learning languages (Dutch, at the moment); I am cooking curious

Teach: maths to a certain level, Russian, making most neat slides (common, I worked for the BCG), solving business case studies

Learn: Dutch, playing/recording any kind of music on any instrument, interesting stuff about your city or neighborhood, cooking
