About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make my wife smile.

ABOUT ME

There is nothing like the feeling of being immersed in a book. The transition from reading printed words to sensing them (as images, sounds, smells, emotions, etc.) is a sensation unlike any other. In this state, itâ

PHILOSOPHY

The worst concept ever imparted by humanity is categorization. We categorize ideologies, religions, skin color, traditions, and everything else. Some seek self-categorization in an attempt to find community; but the division of human beings into categories (social, ideological, religious, monetary, sexual, racial, etc.) is the source of our perpetual demise. Rather than highlighting our common human experiences (fear, love, lust, desire, anxiety, sadness, joy, success, failure, etc.), categorization seeks out differences, and asserts ideas of dominance of one category over another. To find common ground with one group, we must actively seek the disparities between ourselves and another.

Don’t buy into categories. We are all scared, we are all sad, we are all joyous, and we are all hopeful. We all seek love, success, sex, and happiness. We all try to avoid pain, and every one of us fails. We try our best to live, and every one of us dies. We are all humans, and nothing else.

Interests

I love a good conversation; whether it be heated, relaxed, bitter, one-sided, melancholy, nostalgic, or otherwise, the simple act of engaging individuals in such a distinctively human behavior makes me feel incredible. Every anecdote I encounter leaves a sweet resonance in my head, every heated debate forces my mind to expand, even if just a little.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot in my life. But the one thing that matters - the only thing that brings me any sense of continual happiness, joy, and excitement - is my marriage. My wife is the most incerdible person I've met. It took only a glimpse to know that I wanted to spend my life in her radiance.

Otherwise...

Standing in the Red Square is a surreal sensation. The brick and mortar are rich in history, and the size and beauty of it all reminds us of our relative smallness, but also reminds us that a number of small people can produce immense structures.

The Milford Sound (in New Zealand) at night after a rainstorm: The air is dense, the darkness viscous; the surrounding Mountains become one massive waterfall, invisible in the darkness; The sound of falling water encircles you. There's Nothing Like it.

A number of bungy jumps on my travels will always stick out in my mind. There is nothing more exciting than tricking your body into thinking it's about to die.

So much more, so little time.
